Time to get serious

Time to get serious

After really enjoying the last two and a half weeks since we moved to London, it’s now time to buckle down and find jobs! Rob has had job offers thrown at him left and right, but I haven’t been looking properly until now. I finished (and passed!) my last assessment on Saturday, so I just have to wait until the end of this week for that little piece of paper that says I’m a certified personal trainer. Birthdays, biceps and (food) babies

Birthdays, biceps and (food) babies

I know I promised this post would be super informative, but it will have to wait because I want to do a birthday recap instead. Yesterday was my 23rd birthday. Last year I had a terribly boring birthday, but this year Rob wasn’t working and I also had one of my best friends in town so I had a great day! Read the rest of this entry »

Stressful times!

Stressful times!

You would think that finishing work last week would have removed some of the stress in my life, but unfortunately I feel more stressed out than ever! We have exactly three weeks until we move and we have so much to sort out before then. I have to sell all of our furniture, somehow fit my entire wardrobe into just one suitcase, find a new apartment in London while dealing with an 11 hour time difference (which is the worst time difference imaginable, because London’s office hours are Sydney’s sleeping hours!!) AND finish 120 hours of study. Read the rest of this entry »

Choose your reward

Choose your reward

For those of you who have been following my blog for a while and have noticed my husband’s snarky “cardio is for suckers” comments, you will be as thrilled as I am that he now has to do daily cardio! He has been leaning out since October and the time has finally come for him to suck it up and do some cardio. Read the rest of this entry »

A bodybuilder’s Christmas

A bodybuilder’s Christmas

I hope you all had a great Christmas! Rob and I have had a very quiet past few days, and for the first time in a very long time I’ve remembered what it feels like to be bored. We’ve spent a lot of time watching movies, playing video games and eating a few treats. Our Christmas Eve dinner was somewhat untraditional: sushi! Being the sushi monster that he is, Rob ate most of this platter himself. Read the rest of this entry »

Christmas treats

Christmas treats

Thank you everyone for your sweet comments about my stressful exam experience. I’m so glad it’s over and I now only have my video and practical hours to complete before I can move on to the level three part of my personal training certification. Read the rest of this entry »

New goodies

New goodies

I have been in a cutting stage for about four weeks now. My progress is coming along nicely – I’ve lost slightly less than a kilo each week but still seem to be holding on to my muscle mass. Sadly, my tastebuds have died a little. I’m no longer feeling hunger simply because I dread the thought of eating more plain chicken and steamed vegetables. Read the rest of this entry »

Coughs and cookies

Coughs and cookies

As I mentioned in a previous post, I started to get sick at the end of last week. While I initially thought it was stress-related, I woke up on Sunday morning gasping for water to soothe my sandpaper-resembling throat. I usually only get one cold a year and, luckily it’s never anything particularly nasty – I like to think that’s because of my strong immune system built up through years of healthy eating and being active.
